Harry ransom Centre in US offers Research scholarships 2016

Harry ransom Centre and the University of Taxes in Austin are offering the research scholarships for the academic year 2016 -17. Harry ransom Centre at the University of Taxes is awarding approximately 70 research scholarships.

Last deadline: Students submit their application till 15.1.2016.

Area of subject: scholarships are granted for projects that require considerable on site use of its collections. These scholarships support research in all areas of the humanities, including literature, photography, film art, performing arts, music and cultural history.

Course Level: Scholarships are available to undertake research project at the University of Texas at Austin.
Scholarship Provider: The scholarships amounts are funded by donors and organizations. These are the following foundation are offering the scholarships. It also includes the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Dorot Foundation, the Creekmore and Adele Fath Charitable Foundation, the Carl H. Pforzheim Endowment, and the Marlene Nathan Myerson Photography scholarships Endowment.

Eligibility Criteria:
All the students of United States citizens and international students are eligible to apply. The Previous recipients of Ransom Center scholarships are eligible to reapply after two full fellowship cycles have passed.
Applicants for one- to three-month fellowships and travel stipends must have a Ph.D. or be an independent scholar with a substantial record of achievement. If the Ph.D. is in-progress at the time of application, the proposal and letters of recommendation must clearly indicate completion by June 1, 2016.
Applicants for dissertation fellowships must be doctoral candidates engaged in dissertation research by the time of application.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of United States citizens and foreign nationals are eligible to apply.

Scholarship Description: The Harry Ransom Center will grant 70 scholarships for the academic year 2016–2017. The scholarships supports research in all areas of the humanities, including literature, photography, film, art, the performing arts, music, and cultural history.

Number of award(s): The Harry Ransom Center will award 70 fellowships for 2016–2017.

Duration of scholarships: The scholarships are granted one to three months. The Receivers of 2016–2017 scholarships must complete their positions between June 1, 2016, and August 31, 2017.

What does it cover? The scholarships will be obtainable for one to three months ($3,000 per month) One- to three-months. The scholarships are available for post-doctoral or independent scholars whose projects require extensive work with the Ransom Center’s collections.
Scholars will get the Travel Stipends $1,200 (Domestic) and $1,700 (International): Travel stipends are available for post-doctoral or independent scholars whose projects require less than one month’s work with the Center’s collections. Travel stipends may not be combined with other Ransom Center scholarships. .
The amount of the Dissertation scholarships ($1,500): Dissertation fellowships, supported by the Creekmore and Adele Fath Charitable Foundation and The University of Texas at Austin Office of Graduate Studies.

Notification: The successful candidates will receive the notification by email on March 31, 2016.

Students have to create the account before apply for the scholarships. Afterwards students will receive the scholarships account number. Applicant can upload all the required documents.
