UNESCO Madanjeet Singh Scholarships for SAARC Countries’ Students in Bhutan, 2015

The UNESCO Madanjeet Centre for South Asia Forestry Studies (UMCSAFS) at Ugyen Wangchuck Institute for Conservation and Environment (UWICE) is appealing the applications for Madanjeet Singh scholarships for the aspirants of SAARC countries. The Aspirants should be less than 35 years of age and are also required to submit the birth certificate together with the other associated documents. These scholarships are available for chasing 4 year bachelor’s degree program in Forestry at College of Natural Resources (CNR), Royal University of Bhutan (RUB).

Eligibility Criteria

To hold the scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

o   Must pass inter exams with minimum of 55% marks in English and overall aggregate of 60 percent (English, Biology and two other subjects)

o   The candidate must be fluent in English (both in written and speaking)

o   Must produce English Language Proficiency Certificate from an authorized or expert institute

o   The candidate must be less than 35 years of age and are also required to submit the birth certificate along with other applicable documents.

These scholarships are available from eight SAARC countries (India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan as well as Afghanistan) are eligible to apply for these UNESCO scholarships.

These scholarships are granted for four years undergraduate degree program.

What does this scholarship will cover?

This scholarship will cover:

o   Tuition fees

o   Economy air travel from the place of residence of scholars within SAARC to Bhutan as well as back (initial and final)

o   Scheduled income of Nu 12000.00 based on existing SAARC scholarship rate to cover logistics as well as personal expenses

o   Normal book expenses as well as printing expenses (Nu. 5000.00 annually)

o   Establishment expenditure of Nu 16,000.00 and it will be allowed only ones in the complete course.

o   Research for dissertation write-up

Notification

The shortlisted applicants will be informed with final results on 24th June 2015.

How to Apply

All those aspirants who are applying for UMCSAFS scholarship program are required to submit the following documents to the SAF offices of the respective SAARC nations.

o   Class XII Certificate

o   Class XII Transcript or Mark sheet

o   English Language Proficiency Certificate

o   A photocopy of national ID card and a valid passport

o   Security clearance certificate from the respective states

o   Medical fitness certificate from the experienced government hospital of respective nations

o   Birth Certificate
